Taeniopygia guttata - Coloured Friday

34
Yesterday I found a Zebra Finch near the Valldemossa Police Station. It can be found nativly in Australia and Timor-Leste (Southeast Asia). Of course, the bird is called Zebra Finch because of its remarkable zebra markings on the throat and upper breast. The beak is intensive red, and as my Zebra Finch is male, it has a russet cheek-dot.

The Zebra Finch is really shy, he only sings when he thinks that nobody is watching. My cats love their new buddy, but obviously the bird gets nervous when they are around.
